Alvada Creations, inspired by Islam and
Venda, stood out at Torino Fashion Week
FLYING the South African flag high at the international ramp is Tshukudu Phasha, founder of Alvada Creations. Phasha is a 29-year-old designer from a small village in Limpopo called Madeira. With a passion for fashion from an early age, Phasha has made a name for herself, not just locally but globally as well. “I started learning things from my mother and grandmother at an early age and it grew in me that I want to become a fashion designer,” she says. “I studied at Central Johannesburg College in 2008-2011. In 2015, I went to further my studies at LISOF (fashion design school and retail institute) but later dropped out due to financial issues.
